AHL Foundation to Present Contemporary Visual Art Award Winners Exhibition TAKING FORM This Month

AHL Foundation, a non-financial gain organization supporting contemporary artists of Korean descent, introduced the opening of its 2022 AHL – T&W Basis Up to date Visual Artwork Awards Winners Exhibition: Taking Sort, that includes artists Priscilla Jeong, Kyuri Jeon, and Sun You. The exhibition, titled Having Kind is curated by Catherine Haggarty, Adjunct Professor at The School of Visual Arts & Co-Founder and Director of The NYC Crit Club. The curator highlights how the 3 artists visualize communication by deciding upon diverse products, media, and subjects. The exhibition capabilities electronic collages, air dried clay paintings and assemblage sculptures that existing us with get the job done that reflects the artists’ own encounter as Asian Us residents dealing with transit, record, hierarchies, joy, and significantly more.

About the Artists

Priscilla Jeong (Gold Award) is an artist based mostly in New York. Jeong earned an MFA from Columbia University in 2021. She is a receiver of the 2021 Andrew Fisher Fellowship and the Hayman Visible Arts Present. She is a new nominee of 2022 Rema Hort Mann Basis Rising Artist Grant. Kyuri Jeon (Silver Award) is an interdisciplinary artist centered in New York/Seoul. In the form of set up, video, and efficiency, Jeon explores interconnectedness of language, gender, and identity manifested on the human body through the lenses of transnational and intersectional views. Sun You (Bronze Award) is a Seoul born, New York based artist. You has exhibited in galleries and museums internationally. Picked exhibition venues include Geary, New York, The Pit, Glendale, Korea Gallery, Korean Cultural Center, New York, Queens Museum, New York, The Hangaram Art Museum, Seoul, Scotty Business, Berlin, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, and The Suburban, Chicago. You was an artist in home at Hunter Faculty, Ace Hotel, Marble Property Venture, Atlantic Heart for the Arts, Triangle Arts Affiliation, Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral and the Sharpe and Walentas Studio Method. You’s function has been featured in a lot of publications including Artforum, The Brooklyn Rail, Korea Occasions, Contemporary Painters, and Widewalls.
