ART MUSEUM HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE
The Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis is hosting a free Holiday Open House Saturday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 5, noon to 4 p.m. Tour the exhibits, including locally crafted small works on view in “Wrap It Up,” visit the Museum Shop, and enter a free drawing. The museum is also an official Toys For Tots drop-off location. All are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy or arts/craft kit during regular hours: Wednesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday noon to 4 p.m. Everyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy or art kit at CCMoA will receive free admission that day – the museum’s way of saying thank you for making a child’s holiday a little bit better.
HYANNIS HOLIDAY STROLL
Hyannis Holiday Stroll and Love Local Fest Holiday Edition: Saturday, Dec. 4, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Santa arrives on Main Street in an antique firetruck at noon; Love Local artists set up outdoors on the village green selling handmade arts and crafts; Kids’ Zone features petting zoo and pony rides; plus trolley rides, carolers and musicians, ice carving, balloon twisting, cookie contest, and scavenger hunt to find all of Santa’s hidden reindeer. Boat parade on Hyannis Harbor, 4:30 p.m.
YARMOUTH PORT CHRISTMAS STROLL
Sunday, Dec. 5, 1 to 4 p.m. along Route 6A; tree lighting and caroling, 4 p.m. Activities include Rosalitas Puppet shows, crafts with Mrs. Claus, Lady Feyline’s Fantastikal face painting, FunClowns Balloon art, trolley rides, and a multitude of food offerings. The Harper and The Minstrel, Cape Cod Carolers, Regency Brass Band and Tuba Christmas will be playing live music, and there will also be photos with Santa at the Captain Bangs Hallet House, courtesy of Walgreens Pharmacy.
WINTER TALES HOLIDAY STROLL
Saturday, Dec. 11 and Sunday, Dec. 12, fundraiser for the South Yarmouth Library Association; $15 adults; children under 12 free. Enjoy beautifully decorated front yards and doorways while strolling through Bass River Village and West Dennis.
Hours are noon to 6 for voting in the Town of Dennis Special Election Tuesday, Dec. 7. The hours will be from 12 noon – 6 pm. Polling locations are listed on the town’s website.
HOLIDAY CRAFTS
On Tuesdays from 2 to 7 p.m., the Dennis Public Library is offering drop-in holiday crafts throughout the month for ages 8 and up. Supplies are limited, so arrive early. The crafts for each week, starting Dec. 7, are listed in order: paint a wooden snowman or gingerbread man ornament, decorate a gnome ornament, create an air-dry clay ornament, and make a New Year’s noisemaking cracker.
Along with craft making, come and visit us for books, DVDs, CDs, technology, museum passes, puzzles, and a host of other materials and resources. We look forward to seeing you this holiday season!

Yarmouth Selectman Mark Forest is one of three panelists for a lunchtime Zoom discussion about how to better diversity town meeting participation. Scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 9, noon to 1:30 p.m., the program is co-sponsored by the Cape Cod Women’s Coalition and Cape Cod Young Professionals.
Learn about what some towns are doing to increase access, creative ways they are sharing information with residents, and how to dismantle barriers to both attendance and participation. In the Old Kings Highway Historic District Committee election, write-in candidate Liz Argo unseated longtime incumbent John Stuart by a 61:44 vote in the largest-ever turnout for a Yarmouth OKH election. The recently retired executive director of Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative, Argo led the organization to become a major driver of renewable energy and energy storage for the 32 towns and governmental organizations that CVEC serves. She has run her own consulting firm for 12 years.

On Saturday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m., Celtic duo Stanley & Grimm entertains with a celebration of traditional music through old and new interpretations of jigs, reels, and songs played with lively fiddle, guitar, and voice.
