Dozens of undertaking and visible artists to participate in Rock The Cape – The Coastland Periods

A live performance, art clearly show and gallery tour will comprise the 10th Yearly Rock The Cape, which will be held on Hatteras Island June 2-3.

From midday to 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, over 25 nearby and regional artists will obtain on the garden at Kitty Hawk Kites’ Waves Village Watersports Middle at Milepost 40 in Rodanthe for the Rock The Cape Art Display. Hatteras Island musicians Rory Kelleher, Brian Surrat, Loose Wheel, Sam on Sax, Izzy Pop and Eli Thompson will be enjoying acoustic tunes in the course of the day during the art display.

A soundfront live performance on the deck at Kitty Hawk Kites will begin at 5 p.m. There will be funk, rock, reggae and psychedelic jams by VSTLTY from Greenville, Higher Education from Baltimore and Safe Space from Hatteras Island and New Bern.

“We are so proud and honored to be a part of this year’s Rock the Cape,” claimed Sea Sharp Songs proprietor and Hatteras Island musician Barry Wells. “I don’t forget playing in the parking lot at the to start with ever Rock The Cape at Koru’s Beach Klub 10 several years in the past. I’m psyched about the songs lineup I helped make for this year’s main stage with the wonderful individuals at Dare County Arts Council. Larger Instruction is a reggae/rock fusion trio from my hometown and this is their initially time participating in on Hatteras Island, and I are unable to wait around for everyone to expertise them. The evening will conclude with a multimedia visual artwork encounter by Hatteras Island artist Robin Vuchnich.

Admission to the artwork display and live performance is totally free and both equally occasions are loved ones-pleasant.

On Friday, June 3, Rock The Cape will host Friday Arts on the Island, which is an all-working day 1st Friday tour of the galleries on Hatteras Island. The galleries taking part in Friday Arts on the Island will have demonstrations, classes, sales, raffles, tunes, food, consume and more happening at their areas. “We will be doing artist demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kinnakeet Clay in Aged Avon Village during Friday Arts on the Island,” reported owner of Kinnakeet Clay and ceramic artist Antoinette Gaskins Mattingly. “Artist Ruth Moffatt and myself will be undertaking wheel-throwing and handbuilding demonstrations.”

Rock The Cape was started in 2012 as an initiative to celebrate the galleries, artists, and inventive group on Hatteras Island.
