Within the group of students I spoke with, some indicated they want to pursue art as a career while others have been uncertain about profession selections, but very definite about artwork at all times being an outlet for emotion and a satisfying interest.

The college’s Minneapolis location gives access to the downtown cultural community, along with main museums and organizations such as the Walker Art center, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Northern Clay Heart, Highpoint Middle for Printmaking, Intermedia Arts and more.

As students take part in group actions and practice teamwork on initiatives, they learn to acknowledge the value of working in cooperation with others and come to understand that the artistic process shouldn’t be always solely individual, however typically results from a collective vision.

By inquiry, investigation, reflection and inventive utility, visual arts students develop an appreciation for the expressive and aesthetic variety on the earth around them, becoming critically knowledgeable makers and consumers of visible culture.
