“For numerous a long time, I’ve developed art in response to traces from Yeats’ 1919 poem, “The Next Coming.” Browse aloud, his poem is a visionary incantation. Chanting his phrases even though painting, I invoke each the collective and my very own unconscious. Sadly, Yeats’ dark and symbolic eyesight stays related as we confront a pandemic and local weather alter. I carry on to create visual artwork in response to his darkish eyesight, to my possess goals, my have poetry and to nature’s glorious power where wind blows, water flows, space is animated and nothing at all is vacant.”
“I was to start with invited to clearly show this entire body of perform at SFCC in 2019. Given that then, the show has reworked into a collaboration involving Bill Sortino and myself. We are the two giving lifetime to worlds of photos and visuals in terms. I also have produced a e book of my poetry, alongside with pictures that will be accessible at this exhibit.”

“Having lived in Santa Fe due to the fact 1982, I have absorbed this higher desert land I now get in touch with household. This hallowed floor, which stirs the soul, is why artists have cherished New Mexico for so long. Recently, I have extra my poetry to my paintings, providing an added glimpse into my creativity and opening an substitute perspective to the do the job. This process is referred to as “ekphrasis.” For me, poetry sits at the same table with nonobjective artwork and Jazz. Each is an expression of the integral space of our becoming, permitting for the acceptance of the various proportions of place and the recognition that principles of a mere three-dimensional marriage with time, limits not just our bodies, but also the never-ending union with our soul!”
