In September, Arkansas artists entered works into the Visual Arts category of the annual Grand Prairie Festival of the Arts. In a media release, Arts Center of the Grand Prairie director Chuck Law said there was an increased number of contributing artists this year.
“This year’s entries were almost double from the total number of entries last year, and it is exciting to see the new works and array of artists from across the state participating,” Law said. “This year’s exhibit features ninety pieces ranging in a wide variety of mediums.”

The Grand Prairie Arts Council held an opening reception at the Arts Center of the Grand Prairie last week to celebrate the Visual Arts Exhibit. Community members, artists, and board members were among those in attendance. Now, the entries will be on display at the arts center through Thursday, Oct. 28.

Visual Arts works range from watercolor to oil and other mediums, and art styles include abstract, sculpture, landscape, portrait, and still life.
The entire exhibit will also be on the center’s website for viewing. Art enthusiasts can also arrange a time to view the exhibit in person by calling the center at 870-673-1781 or by emailing [email protected].
